About this event
Now in its fifth year, this community-based event seeks to promote local sports whilst generating funds for charity.
The organisers are pleased to announce that proceeds from this year's event will benefit the Marie Curie charity.
The cycle is aimed at all levels of cyclist, from relative newcomers to the sport up to experienced endurance athletes. Two tailored cycle routes (60km & 120km) will cater for cyclists of all abilities and fitness levels whilst showcasing the beautiful scenery and peaceful surroundings of Co. Fermanagh.
The 60km route is a scenic but relatively flat tour of the Fermanagh Lakelands and will provide an enjoyable challenge for novice cyclists.
The 120km route is aimed at more experienced road cyclists and takes in some more rugged countryside with challenging ascents, fast descents and stunning panoramic views. New for 2017, a chip-timed "King of the Mountain" section on the notorious climb to Carnmore Viewpoint will provide ample challenge for the most competitive riders, whilst a slightly less taxing alternative route is available for those who simply want to enjoy the scenery.
The event starts and finishes in Lisnaskea and is jointly hosted by Lisnaskea Emmetts GAC and Enniskillen Rugby Club in association with Clones Cycling Club. All routes will be fully marshaled on the day, including motorcycle outriders from the local Mad Dog Motorcycle Club. Full mechanical support, food/refreshment stops and changing/shower facilities will also be available.
Participants can register at a cost of £25 per person. An “early bird” rate of £20 per person applies for those who register online by 28th July. All pre-registered participants will receive a limited edition ‘Tour of Fermanagh’ t-shirt on the day of the event.
