This is the third year of 'ChallengeHer' Cycling Sportive which was launched this week at the award-winning Tomney's Bar in Moy.
Inspired by the late Ann McGeeney, this unique event is aimed at getting more women involved in cycling. Men are also very welcome to take part.
As usual, the ladies and gents from Moy Square Wheels Cycling Club showed their unwavering support at the launch. Theresa McAllister, Chairperson of the cycling club explained, "We are proud to be a part of ChallengeHer 2017, encouraging more women into this enjoyable, rewarding sport whilst raising funds for our nominated charities, CHARIS Cancer Care and Chest Heart and Stroke NI."
A warm welcome was extended to the McArdle family from Armagh who lost their son, Shane, in October 2016 when he passed away suddenly in his sleep. Shane was a popular member of the Square Wheels Cycling Club and his sister Oonagh eloquently expressed her appreciation. "Thank-you for your over-whelming support and for the dignified manner in which you choose to remember Shane. It is a fitting tribute to his memory and it means an awful lot to us."
The Sportive takes place on Sunday 14th May 2017 at 9am from Armagh Rugby Club.
