New Cycle Racks for Belfast City Centre

Fifty new cycle racks are being installed throughout Belfast city centre as part of the Belfast Streets Ahead project.
The new convenient cycle racks provide more opportunities for people to use bicycles as their main means of transport around the city centre. Cycling is a great way to get around any city, as it is quick and healthy and does not pollute the air with fumes and noise.
The Belfast Streets Ahead Project helps promote a healthier lifestyle. Helping to take traffic out of the city centre means a safer, hassle free area for pedestrians and cyclists.
The 14 streets covered by the phase one of the project are:
- Ann Street
- Castle Lane
- Cornmarket
- Arthur Street
- Callender Street
- Arthur Place
- Castle Place
- Donegall Place
- Castle Street
- Fountain Street
- College Street
- Fountain Lane
- Queen Street
Work in 12 streets is substantially complete with major works continuing in Donegall Place and Castle Place. The Belfast Streets Ahead Project is on schedule to be completed by March 2011.
